I totally agree that this should be all over the press and I'm very irritated that I'm seeing it get very little coverage. This and project 2025 should be what everyone's talking about. These are very disturbing times.

There is an argument that ignoring the extreme right-wing rhetoric is better because it denies them oxygen. By reacting to their ridiculous rhetoric, more attention is drawn to it, which is what they want.

Strategic silence is a strategy to keep journalists and activists from amplifying their rhetoric uncritically, and allow themselves to be exploited in the process. That's not the same thing as making sure voters understand what a coalition's true agenda is and that harm that agenda will cause if enacted. This movement attempted a coup just under 4 years ago. They're deadly serious and we can't ignore them.

That is an argument that I have used in the past and still might be appropriate in some situations, but I don't believe it applies here. Much of the republican base still takes the constitution and democracy seriously and would not willingly vote to overturn such. They'd probably be resistant to believing that this is what their party is about, but if they hear it from enough angles and watch the video they might think again about their vote.
