5. Mail-ins that don't arrive till after the election.
Imo MAGA leaders know perfectly well that Trump is off the rails. This election is no longer about him, it's about the MAGA agenda (Project 25) and power structure. DonOLD goes to his rallies, babbles nonsense to the faithful for awhile, and the real work is done behind the scenes.
There's either a blue tsunami so massive that there's no denying the results or Trump wins. I have no faith whatsoever in cliff-hangers being resolved favorably for Dems, especially if any state case reaches this pathetic excuse for a Supreme Court.
I don't have pre-election anxiety. I'm feeling fatalistic. If the US is full of ignorant fascists, then the US will be an authoritarian, fascist country full of ignorant citizens who will probably never wake up to the fact they've been conned as long as gas at the pump is cheap.
We feel like we know that Trump is planning loosely a repeat of last time, but the GOP seems way too confident. I fear they might have a second strategy for installing Trump, and quickly replacing him with Vance. Maybe I think too much.
Could be, G G, but I don't think MAGA wants Vance yet. He's not out of his mind, he knows nothing about the job, and he might be smart enough to appoint people who actually do know something about the job. I think they want a useful idiot, which Trump will be. He wants money and to look good. If they pat him and pay him, he'll do anything. They don't need to get rid of him until he balks, which gives JD time to learn some about the job.
If JD becomes president (either through Trump's death or 25A), I believe he'll do the best he can, unlike Trump who could care less about the best). Sadly that "best" includes many unacceptable changes, and the end of the USA as a desirable homeland. Unless you're a male Christian white supremacist.
MAGA doesn't want Vance, MAGA just wants Trump because they're his blind, foolish sheep, but The Heritage Foundation, Peter Thiel, much of the GOP etc want Vance to be their puppet ruler of that Christian theocracy of which you speak, and he'll do his best to please them. Trump in that role would be less dependable, because he wants to prove its himself, and not them in charge, so he goes for unsuspected moves.
Unless there are multiple G G's wandering around Substacks, we've corresponded before pretty much in accord. But I'm totally confused here.
1. You "fear they might have a second strategy for installing Trump, and quickly replacing him with Vance."
2. "MAGA doesn't want Vance."
Imo there isn't enough left of the GOP without MAGA to spit on, so what do you think the GOP is too confident about? If Trump installs "loyalists," (to him), they'll be MAGA. If he dies, JD is President. The GOP can't control that.
Short version: MAGA doesn't want (or even know about) Vance. The plutocrats and big corporations want power for themselves. This has been their game at least since Reagan. They know their economic program is unpopular and that they as individuals could never get elected to anything. They also know how erratic Trump and MAGA are. They're using Vance to get into the White House on Trump's coattails. Once they're in the White House, they don't need MAGA votes. They don't need votes at all.
Substack is pretty big, I imagine there are other G. G.s, but I also suspect your previous correspondence was with me, though I don't specifically recall it. In my mind MAGA are his voters, but not other politicians or long time GOP donors. The GOP ( other republican politicians, the people behind the heritage foundation, wealthy donors etc ) are confident about Trump winning. If he becomes president he will install people he believes are loyal to him, some of which will be project 2025 MAGA recruits, but also some that will be recommended by GOP advisors, whose loyalty might not be all about Trump. The GOP can controll Trump dying if they have him killed, but more likely they'd just have him removed for dementia once the rough equivalent of a kingdom is established.
Great advice and I completely agree.
Some things to remember:
1. The Electoral College
2. Voter suppression in "some" states
3. Other voting-day rigging in "some" states (throwing out votes, e.g.)
4. Alternate Electoral slates, dishonest counting (as opposed to tossing votes)
5. Mail-ins that don't arrive till after the election.
