Peter Theil obviously forgot the premise behind the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire. If anything we, the writer of this stack, and other readers, are members of something like the Rebel Alliance, and the GOP is turning to something as bad as that evil Empire.
More gaslighting/projections from the fascist right-wing billionaires. These guys equate personal wealth with being a god, and thus meant to rule over everyone because they are "saviors". Mentally narcissistic megalomaniacs. Ugh.
Sadly yes. I wonder what it will take to cause an ultimate and proper change. Possibly what did happen sixteen years earlier when those subprime mortgages collapsed. Or perhaps an outright depression.
Hopefully not a violent upheaval- aka civil war. I don't know what can make people realize that the kind of change billionaires want is to force all of us to bend to their will and whims, getting us poorer, less healthy, and less safe. A robust opposition to right-wing media empires; and a change in consciousness that 1) governments are meant to help all people, not just the wealthy; and 2) people of different skin colors, different romantic partners than your choice, different gender identities than you, and different religions or no religion - are not a threat - would be a start.
I agree. That's not what I want. The, ah, elephant in the room is angry because of how badly his image is going. Clearly that name knows nothing when it comes to fiscal responsibility, and sadly neither do his backers or handlers. But he and they have got from the first one hundred days, to two years to make a go at it. Then we vote and change things to the better.....

This is terrific. I also listened to Bari's interview, and in addition to Thiel's hypocrisy, arrogance, which you cover here so well, her sucking-up tone, the breathless fawning was both laughable and nauseating. I believe he maybe finances her, so there's that but still, how embarrassing.
