I think you’re absolutely correct that leaders of the resistance will not be elected officials or well-known to the general public.
Many years ago, I had a friend and mentor named Jim Hunt. He was an engineer by trade, but also an avid amateur photographer. On Aug. 28, 1968, he was present with his camera in Grant Park in Chicago, witness to the police riot. When the trial of the Chicago 8/7 got around to the defense case, lawyers for the remaining defendants called witnesses for a month, and all were challenged by the prosecution and disallowed by Judge Hoffman. Until they called Jim. He was a witness, he’d gone to Texas A&M and through, I think, ROTC training. That was enough apparently for Hoffman to allow him to take the stand. When he was sworn in he was asked his name, occupation and employer, which was the old Curtis Candy Co. Only took them a couple of weeks to gin up a reason to fire him.
Most important here is that he wasn’t famous before, during or after that trial. But he testified. He stood up in a hostile courtroom and told the truth. An ordinary citizen who saw wrong and was willing to call it out. It’s people like that who will be most important.
You're absolutely right that the adults need to step up, show up, and drive the conversation. The PEOPLE are the government, and we elect representatives to execute our wishes, but we still have the power and are in contol.
That's where engaging the community and government through 1000s of open mics at kical government meetings can be used to get action against bigotry, lies, and illegal acts; and that's where operationsunshine.info can help. Sunshine laws are there to remind the elected officials who's really in charge.
Yes, the people have a voice! We cannot be muzzled!
Say what you will about the founders (and once I get going, I can say *a lot*), they had guts and they took big risks. The list is long of women and men, of all colors, who've risked as much and more in the many decades since. Most of those people never held elected or appointed office. Those who did -- thank you, John Lewis, among others -- set an example for the rest of us. It's our turn to rise to the occasion. It's all too clear what's likely to happen if we don't.
As you know, the main reason that Dems lost in 2024 is not because of inferior policies and/or poor candidates; our policies and candidates are mostly great! The reason that Dems lost in 2024 is because the Right's disinformation leviathan—exponentially bigger and better funded than anything on the side of facts and good faith—convinces tens of millions of Americans of a false reality. As such, the Left's primary, secondary, and tertiary challenge is not just saying and doing the right things, but making sure that voters actually receive our messaging—continuously! Any ideas on how we do this? How do we break through and override the Right's lies—with our truth—for Americans?
We don’t need to pressure a leader. We need to educate leaders about how democracy broke, something I have been trying to do for years.
Democracy is messy and it’s needy. It needs good schools yet it has had fascists running ours for decades and I, a former teacher with the receipts of this corruption, have tried exposing this since 1995 and most people don’t get it or don’t want to get it. It is the deep state we could take away from Trump by exposing it!
Oprah’s researcher called me in 2010 with my 2008 book in hand but then did nothing to expose this - she did a lot for Trump sycophants Dr.Oz and Dr. Phil, however. Going against fascists takes courage.
Our schools are democracy’s foundation; a hollow foundation is a big problem made bigger because people don’t take the time to look into it. Both parties failed us on this. We no longer produce citizen because they’re the enemies of fascists. Yet this is virtually unknown
The teachers’ unions are going along with fascists to get along with fascists. If only we had one person interested in leading us from this chaos who’d listen to the teacher whistleblowers at WhiteChalkCrime.com, that person could save democracy.
Sadly, these fascists have done such a good job of making you think education reform is hopeless, when it’s absolutely not, getting this investigated is harder than exposing the priests - that took thirty years - or putting Harvey Weinstein in jail - he had his way for decades. These fascists are having their way too, only it’s forcing stupidity on teachers and thus our nation - not sex.
I’ve been at this for thirty years. I’m not giving up. I knew it would end democracy when I started this mission. Democracy is in hospice because the fascists got you to stop listening to teachers and stop believing in education - an ingenious plot that wouldn’t work if teachers had even a smidgeon of power.

RIP, Jim Hunt, you are missed.
